Dandruff is the shedding of dead skins from the scalp.
Dandruff is very common,can be found 8 of 10 people.
Causes of dandruff are.
(1) irritated oily skin.
(2). Not shampooing often enough.
(3). A yeast like fungus (malassezia).
(4) dry skin.
(5). Sensitivity to haircare products.
Symptoms of dandruff are:
(1). White oily ,looking flakes of dead skins.that dot your hair.
(2). A possible itchy,scaly scalp.
Treatment:
Most cases of dandruff don't require a doctors care,but if dandruff shampoos are not helping of or if your scalp becomes red or swollen, see your doctor or a doctor who specialise in skin conditions ( dermatologist).
N:B a type of dandruff called cradle cap can affect babies.cradle cap is not dangerous and often clean up on it own.
